Dr Rebecca Beiers completed her medical degree at the University of Newcastle in 1996, having also completed a research degree (Bachelor of Medical Science First Class Honours 1994).
She completed her Rehabilitation Medicine Advanced Training in the Hunter Area Health Service in 2003. Since the completion of training, Dr Beiers has provided inpatient and outpatient management in both the public and private sectors. She has also done workplace rehabilitation and medicolegal work, initially training at Huner Rehabiliation Services before commencing independent medicolegal work at East Maitland.
Dr Beiers has worked at Maitland Private Hospital as the Medical Director of Rehabilitation Services since 2003. During that time she has been involved in programme and service development resulting in the expansion from a 10 bed inpatient unit to what is now the largest Rehabilitation unit in the Hunter Area. She has been working as an admitting consultant to Warners Bay Private Hospital since 2012, and more recently attained consultation visiting rights at Lake Macquarie Private Hospital.
Dr Beiers has a special interest in degenerative neurological conditions, the elderly and post surgical recovery.
Dr Beiers is an accredited provider of botulinum toxin - for upper and lower limb only, with over 10 years expereience.
Dr Beiers enjoys teaching registrars and has set up the training programme at Maitland Private Hospital. She is actively involved in the RACP as an examiner for the college and participates in the college continuing professional development programme.
